Neural Correlates of Satisfaction of an Information Need

Knowing when a searcher’s information needs (IN) are satisfied is one of the ultimate goals in retrieval. However, psycho-physiological manifestation phenomenon remains unclear. In this study, we investigate brain manifestations moment an IN compared to not satisfied. To achieve this, used functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI) measure activity during experimental task. The task was purposefully designed simulate information-seeking process and suit fMRI procedure. Twenty-nine participants engaged represent search while being scanned.
